Director of Music Program
The Director of Music is responsible to the executive Director of Turkish American Society of Chicago (TASC). The Director of Music supports and works with the directors of TASC programs. Music is an integral part of culture, and any potential candidate should be well versed in traditional hymns and cultural music, as well as prepared to bring new ideas and techniques to the table.
Provide administration, planning, training, recruitment, leadership and participation in the production and performance of all musical programs with TASC.
Direct music for any programs during the year, i.e.: Weekend school, Holidays, and special events, etc.
Support and participate in special music events such as Fall and Spring Concerts.
Recruit volunteers for choir and other musical groups.
Responsible for the children’s choir and oversee the weekly rehearsals of various choirs.
Responsible for arranging musical ensembles, soloists and instrumentalists appropriate for each events at the TASC.
Arrange for the maintenance of all musical instruments in the TASC.
Provide appropriate music for private lessons when requested by the family.
Be open and alert to opportunities for improving and expanding the music programs of the TASC.
Publicize upcoming musical events in the TASC E-Newsletter and other areas available at the TASC
Develop and manage the music and choir budget for the TASC.
Perform other duties as assigned.
